Staring at a possible national Democratic wave, Rep. Ann Wagner makes reelection case
The Ballwin Republican is facing off against Democrat Fred Wellman on Nov. 3. Missouri Congresswoman Ann Wagner defended President Donald Trump's decision to attack Iran, arguing that it was necessary to prevent the country from having a nuclear weapon. However, she defended her no votes on war powers resolutions that sought to limit Trump's ability to use military force against Iran. Wagner is running against Democrat Fred Wellman in the November 3 election to represent Missouri's 2nd Congressional District. Despite winning reelection in 2024 and 2022, Wagner's chances are uncertain given momentum for Democrats in polls. She also expressed her opposition to easing any sanctions against Russia, including a deal on diesel that Trump struck, and suggested that more trade deals could reduce costs for all Americans.
