Butler Gets 13 Years for Stolen Challenger Chase in St. Louis

Frederick Butler got 13 years for a 2025 stolen Challenger chase through downtown St. Louis, the U.S. Attorney’s Office says. Frederick Butler, 44, has been sentenced to 13 years in federal prison for a June 2025 chase in a stolen Dodge Challenger in St. Louis. The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Missouri described the incident as a chase that ended with a wheel coming off and Butler ran red lights and weaving through traffic. The officers and occupants of another vehicle were injured during the chase. Butler discarded a.40-caliber Glock handgun and was found with fentanyl capsules and cocaine base in a cross-body bag. The release does not specify where the Challenger was stolen, who owned it, or any pedestrian was hit. Butler pleaded guilty in July to possession with intent to distribute fentanyl, possession with intention to distribute cocaine base, and being a felon in possession of a firearm.
