Chaim Bloom Raises Eyebrows About Jesus Baez's Future With Cardinals
What are the St. Louis Cardinals going to do with Jesus Baez? The St. Louis Cardinals are currently well-positioned in the infield, with Alec Burleson, JJ Wetherholt, Masyn Winn, Thomas Saggese, Blaze Jordan, and even No. 1 overall prospect Rainiel Rodriguez. However, Cardinals president of baseball operations Chaim Bloom has expressed uncertainty about Jesus Baez's future with the team. Baez played at various levels in the minors in 2026, including at second base, shortstop, and third base. The easiest path for him to make it to the majors would be at the hot corner. However Bloom also mentioned that Baez could play at shortstop or in a pinch. The Cardinals are also keeping all options open regarding Baez.
