IDOT will close the right lane of northbound I-255 over St. Clair Avenue in East St. Louis for emergency bridge repairs, October 26–29, 2026. The Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) has announced a lane closure on northbound I-255 over St. Clair Avenue in East St. Louis, starting Monday, October 26 to allow Keeley and Sons Construction to perform emergency bridge repairs. The right lane will be closed to allow the repairs, which are expected to reopen by 7 a.m. on Thursday, October 29. Motorists are urged to use alternate routes and pay close attention to traffic conditions and signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits, refrain from using mobile devices and be alert for workers and equipment.
