Illinois State Police announce results of crime suppression detail in Metro East Illinois State Police (ISP) conducted a violent crime suppression detail in Madison and St. Clair counties on October 21-22, 2026 in East St. Louis and neighboring Metro East communities. The operation used intelligence and technology to focus enforcement efforts on high crime areas, violent offenders, and structured criminal groups in the communities of the Metro East. During the detail, several notable arrests were made, including one where two firearms were recovered, one with a conversion device and another stolen from St. St.Louis, Missouri. Additional assistance was provided by Collinsville, St. L. Louis County, St Louis Metropolitan Police Department, Missouri Highway Patrol, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. ISP will continue to use all available resources to combat violent crime.
