After some very nice days, hotter temperatures are on deck for the next seven days. Mostly sunny skies Wednesday and noticeably warmer, highs around 90 degrees.

Clear and warmer overnight; wake-up temperatures Thursday will be in the upper 60s to low 70s. Highs in the mid-90s are expected Thursday with more humidity. That will send the heat index value close to or above 100.

Thursday evening and night will bring a chance at some showers and storms. Some storms could be strong to severe, with threats of large hail and strong wind gusts.

The active weather is coming with a cold front and that will knock temperatures back a touch for Friday before the heat and humidity build again over the weekend.

Sunday, Father’s Day, and Monday look to be the hottest days, with afternoon top temperatures pushing into the upper 90s and heat index values at or above 100.

We are watching for some rain chances starting next Monday night that might help bring temperatures back down a bit.
