CHESTERFIELD, Mo. (First Alert 4) - Two people had to be evacuated from a plane after it crashed at Spirit of St. Louis Airport this morning.
According to the Monarch Fire Protection District, the small plane was having mechanical difficulties as it was coming into the airport. The landing gear was not fully operational and the aircraft landed partially on its belly.
The two people inside were able to escape without any injuries.
Authorities are investigating what might’ve caused the mechanical failure.
