Metro East families had access to a one-stop shop Monday, with free services and community resources available at a single event. Aetna Better Health of Illinois offered free haircuts and community resources at a community event in East St. Louis, Illinois. The event was part of the "Style and Smile" barbershop takeover at Our Brothers Keeper, where children and adults could have their hair cut and styled at no cost. Other resources included education and information about upcoming Medicaid changes. Organizers believe a fresh cut can make a difference in people's confidence and help physical health and emotional health.
