The St. Louis County Board has presented its Public Health Achievement Awards to three groups and two individuals for their work in improving the health in the area. The awards were given to Divine Konnections Inc. providing housing and other services to displaced young mothers, the Youth Mental Health Days Committee, Teri Morrison from Bois Forte Health and Human Services, Mallory Cummings from St. Luke's working in Women and Children’s Services. These awards are part of National Public Health Week in April. The goals of public health include preventing disease and injury, promoting healthy communities and protecting against health threats.

DULUTH, MN (KDAL) – The St. Louis County Board on Tuesday recognized two groups and two individuals for their work in improving the health in the area.

The Public Health Achievement Awards were presented to Divine Konnections Inc. which provides housing and other services to displaced young mothers, the Youth Mental Health Days Committee, Teri Morrison from Bois Forte Health and Human Services and to Mallory Cummings a registered nurse at St. Luke’s who works in Women and Children’s Services.

The awards are given out as part of National Public Health Week in April of each year.

The goals of public health include preventing disease and injury, promoting healthy communities and protecting against health threats.
