A Country Club Hills man is in custody for a carjacking and shooting at an apartment complex in Brentwood earlier this week. Davenir O. Jefferson, a 33-year-old man from Country Club Hills, has been charged with carjacking and shooting at an apartment complex in Brentwood, Missouri. The incident occurred on April 2 at the Brentwood Forest Condominium Complex. Police claim Jefferson attempted to steal a 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee at gunpoint and fired several shots, which hit another vehicle with the owner still inside. Officers found the gun, a black Taurus G3c, hidden under a nearby patio. Jefferson remains on a $150,000 cash-only bond and is due in court next week for a bond reduction hearing.

ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. – A Country Club Hills man is in custody for a carjacking and shooting at an apartment complex in Brentwood earlier this week.

According to statements from the Brentwood Police Department, the incident took place on Tuesday, April 2, at the Brentwood Forest Condominium Complex, located in the 8800 block of Flamingo Court.

Officers from the Brentwood, Clayton, and Richmond Heights police departments arrived at the scene after receiving reports of shots fired.

Police claim Davenir O. Jefferson, 33, attempted to steal a 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee at gunpoint and fired several shots. Some of the bullets struck another vehicle, a 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee, with the owner still inside. Officers arrived and took Jefferson into custody. They found the gun, a black Taurus G3c, hidden under a nearby patio.

No one was seriously injured.

The St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office charged Jefferson with vehicle hijacking, first-degree assault, unlawful use of a weapon, armed criminal action, and unlawful possession of a firearm. Jefferson remains jailed on a $150,000 cash-only bond. He’s due in court next week for a bond reduction hearing.
