Convicted murderer indicted in fatal East St. Louis funeral shooting
The suspect was 15 in 2010 when he was convicted of second-degree murder. A St. Clair County grand jury has indicted Jevon E. Wilbourn, a convicted murderer, for the shooting death of Charles Tiller, 38, outside a nightclub parking lot in East St. Louis. Wilbourne is also charged with aggravated battery, aggravated discharge of a firearm, and possessing a firearm as a repeat felon from a previous second-degree murder conviction. The shooting occurred outside Da Beno Nite Club during a funeral gathering. Tiller was pronounced dead at Memorial Hospital in Belleville. The Illinois State Police Division of Criminal Investigation Zone 6 Public Safety Enforcement Group assisted East St Louis police with the investigation.
