As Foreigner's farewell tour hits St. Louis, keyboardist Michael Bluestein wonders what's next

Foreigner will be playing at Hollywood Casino Amphitheatre with Styx on Tuesday, June 18. As Foreigner's farewell tour ends in St. Louis, keyboardist Michael Bluestein reflects on the surreality of being in the band with songs and music he grew up with. Nine of the band's songs, including "I Want to Know What Love Is," and "Waiting for a Girl Like You," have charted in the Top 10, including the No. 1 hit, "I Don't Want to Live Without You," "Urgent" and "Say You Will." Bluesteins credits the love of new fans for their support each time they play, which keeps him motivated.

"It's kind of surreal to be in a band with songs and music you grew up with. You have these dreams of being a musician, and you worked hard at it, and (I) never knew where it was going to take me, exactly. To end up in this group is an amazing journey."

He isn't kidding. Nine of the band's songs charted in the Top 10, including the No. 1 hit "I Want to Know What Love Is." The others include "Waiting for a Girl Like You," "Double Vision," "Hot Blooded," "Feels Like the First Time," "Cold As Ice" "I Don't Want to Live Without You," "Urgent" and "Say You Will."

"What keeps me going and rejuvenates it is every night there is a new set of people out there that are so psyched to hear the songs that they love, and that just reignites the fire for the songs every time we play," he says.
